PHO Grand Rounds:

Evaluating Ontario’s Efforts in Cancer Prevention: An annual report on system-level policies and programs in the province

Evidence has identified that system-level efforts to modify risk at a population level often have a greater impact than efforts to change behaviours in one individual at a time. This webinar presents Cancer Care Ontario’s inaugural Prevention System Quality Index, reporting on 15 system-level indicators spanning seven domains for cancer prevention: tobacco, alcohol, healthy eating, physical activity, environment, ultraviolet radiation and cancer screening. Monitoring and evaluating system-level efforts and the policies and programs that shape them will help to prioritize areas for system improvement.
